I'm looking forward to speaking to the Friends of the Broward County Library breakfast Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Main Library. I'll talk about CHECKED OUT, the ultimate library book and my experiences as a volunteer shelver. You can buy CHECKED OUT for your library.

Robin Cook, Carl Hiaasen, Barbara Taylor Bradford are a sampling of the authors who have appeared at the Broward County Library Foundation's Literary Feast. The 2016 Literary Feast brings in authors from across the country. The three-day feast starts with Novel Day, March 4, when the writers visit local schools.
Saturday is the kickoff cocktail party on the 6th floor of the Broward County Main Library, with open bar, hors d'oeuvres, book sales and signings and an outstanding silent auction. At 7:30 p.m., guests depart for the dinners. Each dinner featuring an author is hosted in private homes or upscale restaurants. Tickets start at $175. For an additional donation of $150, feasters will be guaranteed their first or second choice of literary dinners.
Sunday is a brunch and book signing with more than 300 attendees.
The 28-year-old Feast has raised more than $3 million for Broward County Library literacy programs. For information, go to

The Saint Louis Woman's Club started in 1904 to provide hospitality to the wives of the heads of state and royalty visiting St. Louis during the 1904 World's Fair. Now in its second century, the club keeps up with the times. I'm honored to speak to this distinguished group and sign my latest hardcover, THE ART OF MURDER.
